There is a preference on the template that will display additional information in a document about who and when an update was made to an element. When viewing or running a document, the user's photo will be included along with text of their name and the date time they made the update. This additional detail is displayed next to the history icon.
When this preference is not enabled, which is the default setting, who updated an element and when is included in the history icon.
And the history icon will then display the user that updated the element and the date time.
If you want viewing and running document to display the additional details on the update user, enabling the template setting for Document Display Update User.
You can see in the example below on how two updated elements in a running document have the additional update user info displayed.
How to Enable Document Display Update User in Template Settings
You can enable the Skip Sections preference by updating the Template Settings.
You can see in the Settings tab of the template if the preference is enabled or disabled. In the example below the preference for Document Display Update User is disabled.
To enable theDocument Display Update User preference, follow these instructions:
1. In the Settings tab fo the template click the Update Settings button
2. You will get directed to the Update Template Settings page.
If you don't have any preference enabled, the Preferences panel will be minimized.
You can click on the Preferences title to expand it.
3. Toggle the switch for Document Display Update User to the on position.
4. Click the Save button.
5. The updates will be saved and you will be directed back to the Template Settings panel.
The preference for Document Display Update User will now show enabled.
Now a document using this template will display the user's photo, their name and the date time they made the update.
